June 9, 2026 – The CAR T Vision coalition today launched the first CAR T Vision to Action Blueprint: a practical, expert-informed plan to accelerate progress toward the Vision’s goal of doubling the proportion of eligible patients treated with CAR T-cell therapy by 2030. The Blueprint released today focuses on the United States (US), with a Blueprint uniquely tailored for Europe set to follow as part of the Vision’s broader global effort.

Despite the curative potential of CAR T-cell therapy, only approximately two out of 10 eligible patients in the US receive treatment, reflecting multiple, interlinked barriers across the patient pathway, including awareness, referral, capacity, and financial challenges.1,2,3

With more than half of individuals with cancer in the US receiving care in community settings,4 CAR T Vision recognizes that expanding delivery into these settings is essential to closing the persistent access gap. Achieving this requires a system with the infrastructure, resources, capacity, and financial flows to deliver CAR T-cell therapy, alongside efforts to empower healthcare professionals, patients, and care partners with the right knowledge, confidence, and ability to refer or make informed treatment decisions.

Building on the inaugural CAR T Vision report launched in 2025, which established the Vision, goals, and access barriers, the CAR T Vision to Action Blueprint turns this ambition into action. More than 65 multidisciplinary subject matter experts were engaged by the Vision to inform the development of evidence-based actions and measurable indicators to help ensure patients can receive this CAR T-cell therapy when they need it most.

The US Blueprint provides:

  • Clear, actionable interventions that US stakeholders can adopt to address access challenges, especially as its use broadens to new indications;
  • Real-world examples and case studies demonstrating how access challenges are being addressed in practice, and to inspire action and adaptation by stakeholders across the CAR T ecosystem;
  • Indicators the CAR T Vision coalition will use to measure and report progress annually.

To support implementation, the Blueprint is accompanied by a Vision to Action Toolkit designed to help stakeholders identify priority actions, engage relevant partners, and develop locally tailored plans to increase patient access to CAR T-cell therapy.

CAR T Vision invites US stakeholders to use the Blueprint as a framework to strengthen existing policies and drive practical solutions that ensure more eligible patients can access CAR T-cell therapy and benefit from its curative potential.
